Ernest Hemingway

Ernest Hemingway was an author that was spoken about in class this semester. He was born on July 21st, 1899 in Illinois, as a boy he practiced journalism and wrote in the school newspaper. Him and his family spent a lot of time in Northern Michigan where he learned to hunt, fish, and become friendly with the outdoors. He later went into the military and was a medic for them. There he met the woman of his dreams named Agnus who he was deeply in love with. He met Agnus at  a hospital in Milan after his injuries and he was head over heels for her.
He wanted to marry Agnus, but she didn't believe it was right, they ended up leaving each other and this caused Hemingway to feel absolutely terrible. "A Farewell to Arms" by Ernest Hemingway was modeled by his relationship with Agnus. After meeting Agnus, Hemingway became somewhat of a player. He was married four times and had a total of three kids, two with Pauline and one with Hadley. He was first married to Hadley and they had a son together in Europe, this was also where Hemingway met other authors such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ezra Pound, Pablo Picasso and more. Hemingway later had an affair with Pauline who became his second wife shortly after the divorce with Hadley. Pauline and Hemingway had two children together. Pauline and Hemingway's marriage did not last and he met Martha his third wife, which also wasn't long lived because he had met another war respondent named Mary who he would marry later on. In 1951, Hemingway released "The Old Man and The Sea" which would be one of his most famous novels, which won him the Pulitzer Prize.
